Hieronimus Art Gallery

Detail from the "E Pluribus Unum" mural located in Baltimore's legendary Lexington Market. Artist Bob Hieronimus, 1986. This segment measures eight feet by 12 feet. Behind the various portraits is the astronomical ceiling of Seti I (c.1312-1300 B.C.) located in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt reflecting Baltimore's historical Sister City link with Luxor. Portraits of eaters from left to right are: John Eager Howard, Dr. Benjamin Franklin in Free Masonic regalia, exotic dancer Blaze Starr, former Mayor and Governor William Donald Schaefer (now State Comptroller), Katharine Hepburn and John F. Kennedy -- all of whom dined at the Lexington Market during its two centuries of existence.
