The Division of Personality Studies (Department of Psychiatric Medicine) of the University of Virginia Health System is offering a 1-2 year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (available now) for training in the investigation of young children who claim to remember previous lives. The person appointed will work full-time on such investigations. Qualifications may vary, but the most desirable applicant would have an M.D. degree and training in adult (and perhaps child) psychiatry. Child psychologists with a Ph.D. may also qualify, especially if experienced in child development. Social anthropologists with a Ph.D. may qualify. Previous experience in research in psychiatry or psychology is desirable, but not essential. A serious intention to pursue a career an research is essential. Because the children to be studied are found more readily in Asia, applicants must be willing to travel and work there as well as in Europe and North America. Journeys for field work abroad may last six weeks. Expenses for travel additional to the stipend will be provided. Stipend will vary between $26K and $42K per year depending on number of years since doctorate obtained.
