The Beatles in Rishikesh on 21st Century Radio
Sunday, October 20, 2002, 7 PM Eastern

When the Beatles first incorporated the sitar in the first notes of their song Norwegian Wood, they forever changed the sound and direction of pop music, and began a love affair with Indian mysticism and music. Ultimately they went on a historic pilgrimage to the ashram of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1968, but because no professional photographers were allowed, Paul Saltzman, a young man who just happened to be there at the same time, has captured the only quality photographs of the band during this time period. His book, The Beatles in Rishikesh features 75 original, previously unpublished photographs as well as personal anecdotes of encounters with Mia Farrow, Donovan, and Mike Love of the Beach Boys, as well as Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr at this special moment in their musical and personal lives.

Paul Saltzman is our guest Sunday, October 20, 2002 at 7 PM Eastern on 21st Century Radio, right here on Talk Radio 680 WCBM!
