BEWARE OF THESE COMPANIES and PRODUCTS:
THEY ARE PRO-GM FOODS
As you may have heard, a coalition composed of major USA food, farm, retailer, and grower organizations has launched a new Web site called Alliance for Better Foods, which is, they claim, dedicated to providing "fact-based information about the benefits of food biotechnology to American consumers."

The new Web site is at http://www.betterfoods.org

THIS IS AN IDEAL OPPORTUNITY!

We should download information from this new GE site as soon as possible and put it up on anti-GE Web sites throughout the USA and Canada etc. - as this will enable concerned consumers to know exactly which food companies to boycott, and it will allow GE campaigners to identify those companies most intent on forcing genetically manipulated foods on the public.

GE COMPANY ALERT!

Companies listed on the GE food Web site include:
Nestle; Nabisco; Sarah-Lee Corp.; Coca-Cola; Hershey Foods; Breyer's Grand Ice Cream; Colgate-Palmolive (GE toothpaste etc.?); Quaker Oats Co.; Tate & Lyle; Wrigley Co.; Best Foods; Monsanto Nutrition; Flowers Bakery Inc.; and Austin Quality Foods, etc.; (Not sure which major supermarkets may be involved).

GE FOOD ALERT!

Food products listed on the site include:
Heinz; Kellogg's; Rice Krispies; Frosted Flakes; Total Cereal, Campbell Soups; Uncle Ben's; Haagen Dazs; Pepsi; Tony's Pizza; Cadbury; Schweppes; Land o' Lakes; Kraft; Ragu Sauce; Nutrasweet; Wheaties; Red Baron Pizza; Weight Watchers; Bird's Eye; I Can't Believe Its Not Butter (no, its GE!); Sun Chips; Old El Paso; Iron Kids Bread; Fanta; Cheerios; Cheetos; Dannon Yogurt; Lipton Tea, and .....one for the pups to avoid ......Pedigree Dog Food, ...etc.

ACTION ALERT!

Let's inform the Grocery Manufacturers of America, and every food, beverage and healthcare company mentioned on the Alliance For Better Foods Web pages, that their Web site information is now being distributed to consumers and anti-GE campaigners across America and Canada, and that all food products mentioned on this site will be boycotted until such times as they are guaranteed to be free from all GE ingredients and derivatives.

You can e-mail the GMA at: info@gmbrands.com.

Also, check out the highly misleading information on their Home Page! and pass on any comments/complaints that you may have to the GMA/Greenpeace/FoE/ the press and media.

AN AMUSING EXTRACT FROM THE RECENT GMA PRESS RELEASE:

The Alliance for Better Foods' Web site was unveiled in the following testimony delivered to the Senate Agriculture Committee by the Grocery Manufacturers of America, which is a member of the Alliance:-

"GMA is just one of more than two-dozen organizations that make up the Alliance for Better Foods," said GMA counsel Gary Kushner, a noted expert in the area of food and agriculture law. "Major food and beverage companies who are strongly supportive of food biotechnology and the farmers who utilize it are part of this coalition dedicated to educating the public about its benefits.
