Erich von Däniken is Back! Release - For Immediate Attention!
The Internationally Acclaimed Author of Chariots of the Gods is Back on a Nationwide Lecture Tour in the United States, June 5 - June 11, 2000, to Promote his Latest Book Odyssey of the Gods!

Did the ancient Greeks have encounters with an alien race? The history of Greece is filled with many legends of extraordinary events, powerful gods, and mythical creatures that surpass the capabilities and, at times, the imagination of modern man. What if these ancient stories - the rich cultural heritage that we associate with Greek mythology - were actually true?

Erich von Däniken now turns his years of experience with Ancient Astronaut studies towards ancient Greece! In Odyssey of the Gods (to be released by ELEMENT Books, Boston, in the end of May 2000), von Däniken suggests that the Greek gods were in fact extraterrestrial visitors who arrived on Earth thousands of years ago.

World renowned as the "Ancient Astronauts" advocate, Mr. von Däniken is considered to be the authority on this highly fascinating topic. Erich's lectures will consist of his latest findings, presented with exciting video feeds and slides. He will also promote his new book Odyssey of the Gods, the AAS RA (Archaeology, Astronautics & SETI Research Association), and report on the latest developments of the "Mysteries of the World" theme park in Switzerland.

Erich von Däniken has written 24 books and has sold over 60 million copies worldwide, which makes him the world's most successful non-fiction writer of all time. His books have been translated into 32 languages.

In the United States Erich von Däniken won instant fame as a result of the television special "In Search of Ancient Astronauts," based upon his first book Chariots of the Gods. In 1996, ABC/Kane Productions produced a one-hour special with Erich von Däniken, which was filmed all over the world, entitled "Chariots of the Gods - The Mysteries Continue." The show was broadcast on prime time on ABC on September 26th, 1996. In 1996/97, ABC/Kane produced another documentary with Erich von Däniken, seen on the "Discovery Channel." Both documentaries are now repeatedly shown all across the nation. Today, Erich von Däniken continues his filming with ABC and the "Discovery Channel."

Of the more than 3,000 lectures which Erich von Däniken has given in 26 countries over the past 30 years, some 500 were presented at universities. Fluent in four languages, Erich von Däniken is an avid researcher and an energetic traveler, averaging 100'000 miles per year to visit remote places of the Earth. This enables him to closely examine the phenomena about which he writes. He was awarded with an Honorary Doctorate degree by the State University of Bolivia.

Still alive and well, Erich lives in a small mountain-village called "Beatenberg" in Switzerland (20 miles from Bern, above the city of Interlaken). Together with two planning committees he is currently building a theme park called "Mysteries of the World." The "Mysteries of the World" theme park will open in April of 2002 in Interlaken, Switzerland.
